Prince George County Jury Trial

18 year old client was injured in a vehicle accident. The other driver admitted fault. She incurred medical bills of $20,000.00, for neck, back and knee injuries. There was no surgery.

The insurance company offered $65,000.00.

The jury awarded $167,000.00.

Charles County Jury Trial

42 year old woman was injured at work when boxes fell on her. She made a Workers Compensation Claim, and also filed a Negligence case against the at fault company.

She claimed a closed head injury, alleging that she was unable to work as a result. The defense claimed that she was malingering, and was capable of work.

No offer was made.

The jury returned a verdict of $949,587.00

Binding Arbitration

A 50 year old female was rear ended. As a result, she had herniated disc surgery. The Insurance Company defended, claiming that the amount of property damage did not support the seriousness of the injury. The Insurance Company also hired a doctor who said that the collision did not cause the herniated disc, and that it was due to her age/degenerative process.

She had medical bills of $47,361.00 and lost wages of $94,659.00. An offer of $50,000.00 was made. The parties agreed to arbitrate the case. An award of $290,000.00 was made by the Arbitrator.

District Court Trial

A 27 year old firefighter was involved in a rear end collision. He did not seek immediate medical treatment, and there were gaps in his treatment. His medical bills totaled $2,462.10. State Farm refused to make an offer.

At trial, the client was effective in explaining the Judge why he did not immediately seek treatment, and how the accident affected him. The Judge awarded him $7,500.00.

Settlement

Our client, an 18 year old girl, was injured in a bad collision coming back from Ocean City. Despite the seriousness of the collision, she received only minor injuries, and had medical bills of $3,154.94.

The case settled for $18,000.00, through our hard work of persuading the insurance company that although her medical bills were not very high, that this collision affected her first year of college.

We will continue to settle cases at the highest possible settlement amount and will continue to strive to obtain verdicts many times more than the insurance company's last offer. We are very proud of our lawyers' abilities to value the cases they are handling, and to give advice as to when to settle, and when to proceed to trial.
